Hi, I am facing some problem with my timing issues in verbal section. I hope you could help.

I have completed my theoretical learning and now I am practicing the question back from various question banks, but I am facing the accuracy while I am putting the timer.

Without timer- I am getting around 80% accuracy in verbal and with Timer it goes down to 30-40%.

Could anyone please help me how i can tackle this problem.

Hi bansalsaurabh7,

In late October, you mentioned that you had gotten 'stuck' around 580 on your practice CATs. Since it's been almost 1.5 months since those posts, I'd like to know a bit more about how you've been studying during that time:

1) What study materials have you used?
2) How have scored on EACH of your CATs since then (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
3) What 'steps' do you go through when approaching a typical RC, SC and CR prompt?

How long have you been doing timed practice? It's natural for accuracy to go down during timed practice if you have been going through questions without any time pressure. Give yourself some time to adjust before you make any major changes.

Hi bansalsaurabh7,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. Since you seem to be struggling to correctly answer timed verbal questions, you likely have more of a knowledge issue than you do a timing issue. Could you provide some further insight into how you have been preparing for the verbal section? Once I learn some more about you, I can provide more detailed advice.

Good luck!
