I just learned about this extra time accommodation today and am battling back and forth on whether I should pursue. I am 30 and was diagnosed as a teenager with ADD. I took medication for it for a few years, but stopped altogether for about 10 years since I didn't want to rely on drugs. I've struggled a bit throughout the time but have made it through just fine (although my undergrad GPA took a hit). Only recently did I start taking medication again, and it is mainly for the GMAT to help me study. I'm a poor test taker.
I am wanting to apply to top 5 part time programs, and am needing a very strong GMAT to do so (undergrad GPA 3.0). My test is scheduled for a month from today and now I'm wondering best course of action.
-If I take the accommodations, I may feel like I cheated and my score isn't a true score.
-I make a lot of careless errors on the GMAT, and wondering if I will be able to ever score in the 700 range without this. I'm at my max capacity for studying, have taken a manhattan in person course,
magoosh, and not seeing a whole lot of improvement (Typically 630-650, ~36 quant, ~38 verbal).
What would you do? Or have you used the accommodation with ADD?
I'm wondering if I should apply, keep my scheduled test date (the result of my accommodation request will likely be right around the time I take the exam), and then schedule it again with the accommodation if I get a poor score?
I am planning to apply in the winter program at Booth, deadline is October 4
