I recently decided that I'd like to pursue an MBA through a part-time program. A major factor in the part-time decision is the fact that my employer would pay 75% of tuition; full-time programs are not too appealing to me. Living int the San Francisco Bay Area, my goal is admission to the Haas program, with Leavey as my 'backup.'
That said, I went in and took the GMAT yesterday. I scored a 740, but bombed the Quant section (Q46/68%, V45/99%). I didn't take any prep courses, so I'm considering taking a math-only course and retaking the GMAT in a couple of months.
My question is, would a PT program care as much about my low Quant score? Would the 740 overall be enough to overcome that weakness? I've seen some people claim that PT programs don't care as much about gmat scores - is that a myth or fact?
Any insight/advice is appreciated!

A 740 is enough for you to get into any FT program, no less a PT program! (so don't even THINK about retaking).
That plus the sponsorship of your employer should be strong enough to make you competitive at any PT program in the US. Just write beautiful essays!

Thanks for the reply, JonAd! My work experience is pretty weak compared to the Haas PT student profile, so I'm just trying to make sure that I don't have any other weaknesses in my application. I was really excited about the 740, but then started getting concerned when I saw how many schools look at the Q/V breakdown. I don't want to come across as the poet applying to business school - I'm generally very good with numbers, but I've forgotten a lot about trigonometry and exponent rules, apparently.
