It depends on where you are applying. A 3.3 GPA is great but it's not amazing for top-ranked programs. If you can share more about your target list that can help us with whether doing decently on the GMAT would help or make no difference with respect to your GPA.

If you want to share more about your profile beyond what you have provided, that would also be helpful. There's frankly too little information for many of us to make a strong recommendation.

Hi, thank you for replying!

- I am a Computer Science engineer from a good school with with 3.3. GPA.
- I have 5 + years of experience in the healthcare consulting industry with good on-site and client-facing experience.
- I do have extra curriculars such as sports captain in University and have also done volunteer work for a primary healthcare center.
- I've mentored several associates and speared-headed several successful initiatives.

I tried to take a GMAT online test and the experience was horrible. Thankfully, Examity cancelled and gave me a refund. The one test center in my city shut down for most of the year and recently just reopened. The appointments are very close to/ after the R2 deadlines. I didn't want to take a risk and hence applied for McCombs, Kelley and Ross test waivers and have been granted them.

I assume you applied for waivers and they were granted… ? Just wanted to clear this point.

I think this would be schools like Ross and Darden. I did hear from a Darden applicant who applied with LSAT and got waitlisted a few weeks ago. They got a chance to do a profile feedback with AdCom and it came down to the school looking for a higher GPA for their class. I don’t know if that is what they told them so that they would feel better about themselves or if that was the biggest sticking point but they had a 3.3. Based on the feedback, it didn’t seem they could easily fix the whitelist situation. I’m guessing a super high GMAT score could sort of offset that… but that was not a suggestion they got. I think in part, the overall profile may not have been super competitive and the GPA was the last straw or rather the deciding factor perhaps?

You can check the average GPA for the class profile. Most top 10 or top 15 hover around 3.5. I think it’s fine to apply without a score and from the selfish ranking perspective for a business school, your application actually has no impact. You just blend with the average but if you’re going to apply with the below average GPA, do you need to bring something to the table in terms of other value. Maybe it’s a diversity element or unique profile or something like that.

Yes, i have applied for McCombs, Kelley and Ross test waivers and have been granted them. I've also posted a more detailed version of my profile. Do let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

You can follow the FULL LIST of Standardized GMAT GRE Test waivers for the 2021-2022 on the ARINGO blog: https://www.aringo.com/getting-accepted ... s-you-can/

We have asked for and received GMAT and GRE waivers for our candidates from most of the schools on the list (MIT, NYU, Cornell, Darden, Ross...) Mccombs seems to be the only school that did not grant a waiver to our candidates (we are 0 from 3 there  ).

ARINGO candidates without a GMAT have received already interviews to several schools like Ross and Darden (+ an acceptance to Darden!). we are still waiting for the rest to announce the interviews (most results should be published within a week).

GOOD LUCK! and feel free to get in touch if you need some advice. :please:
