Just wanted to let you know that I got my admit from LBS and INSEAD ( interview calls for INSEAD but have decided to go to LBS so not attending the interviews).
Still waiting on my visas and stuff, but I really must thank GMAT club and specially Paul who helped me prepare for the interview. His advice was bang on.
Of course, I would be more than happy to give back to the club what I have gained. So if any of you want to talk to me about my experience with GMAT or admissions or whatever feel free to drop me an email.
Good job mbadownunder! I'm glad you will be part of our great community, you will love it I'm sure!
In answer to giddi77's question, he picked LBS for two reasons:
1- We won the 2006 MBAT (MBA Tournament including top European b-schools)
2- We are simply the best (alright, I may be biased here)
1. I am still not a 100% unsure what i want to do post MBA so want to do a summer internship.
2. I am interested in a 2 year programme as opposed to a one year programme. Partly because I guess I can take 2 years at this stage and partly because I come from a non business background and hence want to study over 2 years. (I guess some can argue this point, but its what I feel). Moreover I really want to enjoy my b-school experience with travelling, clubs etc which only a 2 year program will allow you to do.
3. I am married and my wife has a nice job in Australia. Its bad enough that I am asking her to quit but asking her to find a job in Fontainebleau (I want to be in Europe) would be hard. Finding a job in London would be a lot easier for her without taking a step back in her career.
As you said they are both great schools and INSEAD certainly has its merits but I guess for me LBS made more sense.

Hi sm176811,
I had a GMAT score of 730. I have two undergrad's. One in Mathematics and one in IT. I did reasonably well in Mathematics and much better in IT. Dont have a GPA system in Australia but I was around the 75% mark.
I have 6 Years work experience first in a technical role and then as a research Analyst.
Would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to drop me an email.

You bet I am. Though I dont live in Kirribilli anymore. Had a bit of a tiff with John Howard.
I applied in Round 4, so was lucky to just about make it. Although I really wish I had applied earlier. Takes the stress out of the whole loan application and visa issues.
