Hi,
I started applying (After evaluation which started a month prior to that) for PGPX courses in mid-march 2020. I have applied only to UCLA PGPX and INSEAD ILPSE. In fact INSEAD was my first choice and is the first college I had applied for.
Probably due to COVID-19 or otherwise, the process in INSEAD has taken more than expected time. I just got to know my interview panel.
So It will be at least two weeks to know my admission results. In the meantime, UCLA has processed my application, interviews are over and I have been selected too. The catch is, I have only 5 days to pay my seat reservation fees ( Due on 6 April 2020)
Shall I wait for INSEAD or go ahead and pay for UCLA. Once i have paid for UCLA, it is not refundable when I pull back later.
Also given that INSEAD is 75% is more expensive than UCLA PGPX, I am inclined towards UCLA as well (With the global crisis due to COVID and education loan EMI, it is a big difference to miss). I am already 37 years old and education loan will run for 8 to 10 years.
Also both ILPSE and UCLA are designed to help you grow in your current organization or in future career growth (Which depends on how you use the Alumni network, your expertise etc). Only thing that is making me to consider waiting to ILPSE is its Global Ranking and the brand recognition that comes with it. Does the brand recognition really matters in long run, specifically in MBA? if i choose to wait and did not get in INSEAD, will UCLA accept me again?
