kryzak: I will be attending Haas next year, and am considering attending the "Days at Haas" event. Considering the cost to attend (I'm an East Coaster) and the fact that I'm pretty schooled up on UC Berkeley and what Haas has to offer (my fiancee is grad student at Berkeley), do you believe that it is worth ponying up the bucks to attend? I'll also be relocating to SF pretty early in May, so I'll have pretty good access to Haas prior to matriculation.

Hi IPOmeplease,
Good question. Days at Haas is an event that allows you not only to learn about the school, but also start meeting and making friends with your future classmates and lifelong friends. Many of the people I am currently very close friends with I've met at DAH. While I do understand that you are committed to Haas and you have close connections with the school, the impact of DAH may be less for you than for others. If left to me, I would still take the chance to fly out and enjoy what the school (and the weather) has to offer. These are experiences that you will still be talking about well into your time at Haas.
Of course, there are some money saving measures if you book early, request staying at a student's house (or your fiance's house), among other things.
The registration should be up with the tentative agenda. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the agenda that may help you decide whether to attend DAH or not.

Thanks a ton for the helpful info. I decided to register for the first weekend, and am looking forward to a good time at DAH.
I have one more quick question if you get the chance. Do you know of anyone that has taken one of the summer immersive language courses (10 credits, 10-weeks, $3,600 cost)? Of course the Summer Sessions program bills the classes as a top draw, but I'd be interested to know if any b-school students have taken one of these courses (I'm interested in Mandarin) the summer prior to the first semester, and if the learning experience was worth it?
