Advance Purchase Discount for Airline Travel

The table above shows the discount structure for advanced purchase of tickets at a particular airline. A passenger bought a ticket at this airline for $1050. The ticket agent informed her that, had she purchased the ticket one day later, she would have paid $210 more. How many days beforeher departure did she purchase her ticket?

p1 - price that she paid
p2 - price that she would have paid.
p2/p1=(1050+210)/1050=1.2
1. 0%,10%: p2/p1=p0/0.9p0~1.1<1.2 out
2. 10%,25%: p2/p1=0.9p0/0.75p0=1.2 ok
3. 25%,40%: p2/p1=0.75p0/0.60p0=1.25 out
