Hi,
I have a M.S from one of top 5 US univ in Telecom & Networking and have been working in Silicon Valley for past 4 years as software engineer. I am planning to apply for MBA for Fall 2013. I am primarily interested in Investment Management particularly hedge funds.
There are couple of things that i am looking for:
a) Has some transitioned from Engineering job to Investment Management/Hedge Funds via MBA?? If so, how did you achieve it.... any tips which were particularly helpful to you??
b) Looking for as much info on investment management/alternative investments/buy-side finance/hedge funds as possible. I checked Nink's guide, it doesnt have as much details for what i am looking for but PE/VC details is awesome.
c) Its incredibly difficult to get a direct job in a hedge fund. What could be career tracts via or through which i could try to get into hedge funds?

Just my two cents: remember to be pretty clear about why you're applying for an MBA. Transitioning to a different industry is a good reason to get an MBA, so just make sure you are clear about why you're hoping to make that change and what you hope to accomplish.
