I have exactly five weeks left until my GMAT appointment. Here's my issue: I've been using the Manhattan GMAT books and i've found them pretty helpful, but the book on equations, inequalities, and VIC's is for the most part going over my head. Equations I have a pretty good understanding of, but anything past that and I get stuck. I can't push the GMAT back, so I am considering doing this: I want to use the weeks I have left to firm up my DS skills and my Verbal score (which is already pretty good), trying my best with inequalities and VIC's and trying to learn how to identify these kind of problems, but likely guessing on them on the test. If I get a high verbal score to compensate for my potentially lower quant score, I think I will turn out okay. I am looking to get 600-620 on the test at the end of the day. Any advice on whether this is a good plan?

What exactly is going over your head? Are you not getting the concepts at all, or just not able to recognize and do the problems quickly? The thing I liked about the MGMAT is that it started with the absolute basics and built up from there. Assuming you could spend 10 or so hours a week for the next 5 weeks, you've got time to go back through each MGMAT book from the start. That's what I would recommend doing.
You didn't mention the NP book--have you reviewed that one again? NP gives you the foundations for pretty much everything else you'll do in quant.

I think you have some time on your hands... Try and get that quant score up to play it safe... If you are already doing well in verbal, thats great.. A better quant score will only help.... also schools like to see balanced scores.... i.e. they like 36 - 38 more than 34 - 41...
