I am a BS in Physiology from India (US Permanent Resident), working as a Clinical Research Coordinator(CRC) in the NYC area since the last 3 years. I also have 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst in India. I have a 720 in the GMAT (1st attempt) and may retake it to raise my score a little more, and am confident of good letters from my job.
Is it impossible for me to get into a top 20 MBA program? How can I maximize my chances, considering limited scope of leadership in my job?
For the uninitiated, being a CRC, I work as the person who coordinates multi-center clinical trials at my particular site. Most of these trials run simultaneously on 5+ sites. Usually I manage 5-6 trials at any given time. Although my work requires me to directly deal with at least 20 different persons each day, only 2 Research Assistants work directly under me.
Experts please give your valuable opinion.

I scanned through this entire forum and also the internet, and am surprised at this lack of information on the prospects of a Clinical Research Coordinator going for a full-time 2 year MBA at a reputed B-school. Is this job description that bad?

A 720 is an outstanding score, and it allows you to comfortably apply to any Business School that you choose (so you should not hold back on any of your applications).
You're ultimately asking questions that are more about Admissions than anything else, so you'll likely get more pointed advice from those Experts. There is a Forum full of them here:

Business School Admissions Committees tend to keep an open mind about 'interesting' applicants who come form non-traditional Business backgrounds. Your work as a CRC, when properly presented, could help you to 'stand out' - which is something many applicants strive for.
