Hi all,
I've been fortunate to be admitted to Darden (no$), Fuqua ($20k), Stern (no$), Cornell ($60k), and Anderson ($80k). I've also been waitlisted at Haas.
Profile: 25M, Indian
Work ex: Work in deep tech i.e. R&D and innovation at one of the biggest semiconductor firms. Will be 5 years of work exp at matriculation.
My post-MBA goals are strategy consulting as plan A and product management in tech firms as plan B. I'm location agnostic.
Everything from fit, student experience on campus, class room learning etc matters to me.
To elaborate on fit, I really value the close-knit environment, exploring the outdoors, having a very response, great alumni network which I can rely on even a few years after graduation etc.
Coming from a technical background and wanting to pivot into a different industry and function, I really value experiential learning and lab based courses, as it would help me gain a lot of experience.

I don’t think there is a lot of talk to be heard about fit based on two sentences 😇
I would probably pick Fuqua or Johnson. They’re consulting recruiting will be stronger, more focused. I know Fuqua has MBB recruiters on campus, they have offices there. Not sure about Johnson.
I don’t think Stern is in the running because of a high cost of living in New York unless you want to be in NY City. I don’t think you need to be.
You can also do some negotiations in terms of trying to make the financial aid a little bit more proportionate. I can see potentially future are providing another 10 or 20,000.
PS. Your consulting recruiting chances really depend on your networking and interview skills. Recruiting for consulting will start in October, just about two months after you start school so there’s only so much you will be able to gain and learn for the internship recruiting. Your consulting club will be super important than my guess it will be somewhat stronger at Fuqua but by no means it guarantees success. As an international applicant, you have cards stacked against you. Some consulting companies don’t recruit international, the networking can be confusing and the culture is different, so recommend to do as much prep as you can to connect and work with current students and get a Headstart on learning about the companies, networking process, interview process, etc. All of these will be super helpful to you regardless of which program you go to.

I'm location agnostic so I don't mind studying in the city or a college town. I spoke to buddies at both Fuqua and Johnson, and there seems to be consulting reps at both campuses. With that being said, I might want to work in Europe/South East Asia a few years down the road.
If I were to get an admit from Haas. Would that change the scales ?
