Hi. I don't think Haas would sway me much for consulting. It is not usually as strong for consulting focus and west coast tends to be a bit underperforming when it comes to on campus recruiting.... Tech and Entrepreneurship and VC - absolutely but for consulting, Fuqua with $ would be better in my view.

I assumed that since roughly the same percentage of people at Haas that go into tech, go into consulting, it would be pretty solid as well.

Sure. I think a valid assumption. I just never seen people really choose Berkeley or talk about Berkeley as a consulting program. Since it’s a waitlist, the other options with the scholarships seemed more attractive, even if you clear the waitlist, I don’t feel it would strengthen your chances.

Thank you for your inputs and Merry Christmas Eve btw!

And sorry to bombard you with more questions. Please bear with me

1. The recent employment reports came out for most of the schools that I got into. Darden seemed to perform a lot better than the rest of the schools. While we can't predict the market in 2026/27, should these reports sway the decision in any way?

2. Since plan B is to recruit for PM roles at tech firms, and since tech recruiting is very unstructured i.e. you will have to ask for referrals and apply on the company website etc. In that case, will having done an MBA from Haas be more valuable than from the others (except Cornell) ? Since UC Berkeley and Cornell are considered very strong engineering schools.
Or is it more just a function of prior experience, pre-MBA educational background and skills ?
