Hi guys,
I was writing one of my essays and I wanted some advise from you folks in the MBA specialization area of the essay. I am a bit fuzzy in this area, hence the question. Firstly a bit about myself: I come from an engineering background and am presently in an IT service company. My vertical is insurance (property insurance to be exact) and I have a good understanding of this domain since I have been working for insurance clients for the past three years now. I want to do a MBA in general management with a focus on finance - that is to say, I don't want my MBA to be an all and out finance MBA but rather a general management MBA with a larger number of finance related subjects (as compared to other fields).
Question: Is such a field even possible? If yes, given my background, is it credible enough to be considered during the application process? Thirdly, when I am putting this in my essay, would it be enough to simply put it as "general management with a focus on finance" or would this be too ambiguous?
Thanks!
Aval
PS: In case, I have posted this question in the wrong forum, could you please tell me where this is to be posted? Or else, could you move it on my behalf? Thanks!
