Hi kevinbambang,

Your recent CAT Score is an outstanding overall result - and it shows that you are likely a strong overall critical-thinker - which is great! Assuming that you took this CAT in a realistic fashion that matches-up with how you will take your Official GMAT, then the broader questions that you're asking really come down to your timeline and goals. As such, I have a few questions about how you've been studying and your plans:

Studies:
1) Over the last 1.5 months, how many hours have you typically studied each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? Have you taken any other CATs/mocks besides the 2 that you mentioned?

Goals:
3) What is your overall goal score?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

any other tips regarding how to practice time management/ doing questions under pressure will be greatly appreciated.

Consider using time markers for time management. Looking for shorter or more friendly ways to solve questions may also be helpful. For example, How to get better at GMAT Quant. Pick numbers you can actually use.

Hi kevinbambang.

The best way to manage time better and complete the quant section on time is to keep developing your skills and learn to find the most efficient ways to the correct answers to questions.

You can even get faster by practicing untimed and playing around with different ways of answering questions to find the fastest ones.

Also, you might get some useful ideas from this post.

Hi all, thanks for all the insightful answers. Will try to do more timed sessions with the forum quiz now.

Thanks for asking Rich,
1). Typically, I study about 1-2 hours a day, alternating between quant and verbal each day.
2). I read the princeton review book as a start to brush up on math concepts, and then I just used the forum quiz to hammer out questions in the 600-700 range. I also read the powerscore book on SC and CR but I found the book on SC to be more helpful as I'm quite rusty on grammar.
3). My overall goal score is >700
4). Planning to apply to Master in Management programs (because I only have <2 year of work experience) and targeting both HEC and IESE.

kevinbambang,
You can use GMAT Club Quant tests to solely practice quant questions in one go.
I have read a lot of blogs where they have said that you should use time yourself even while you are practicing questions, so I think that will be helpful

Hi Scott, that's an interesting read, thanks!

During my last practice exam, I realised that I was behind my target time (of ~2min/ question) around halfway through the exam and then I skipped a few questions in topics I'm not strong at to make up for lost time. I finished the test with about 4 min to spare, is that normal? I also might've rushed through the last few questions as I'm afraid I wouldn't make it to the last question in time.
