Hi there, does anyone have advice on how to improve sentence correction in 2 weeks? My last 4 CATS have been in the 700 range. My most recent CAT (via GMATprep) was 710 (v37, q49). I feel the low hanging fruit if you will is SC. 7 out of the 12 missed in verbal were SC. I am a native English speaker, but I have always been quant oriented (AKA, I don't pleasure read and I'm easily distracted while reading textbook like material). I only have 2 weeks remaining to study. In an ideal world, I'd love better responses than what the OG provides on official questions... I know i can read the forums, but I don't have time to read forums over the next 2 weeks. I am inclined to think that equal effort on quant and verbal will provide more reward on verbal (even though I like quant practice more). Any and all advice is much appreciated!!

I don't know what study material you used to prepare but I suggest you to take a look at our SC video here:
https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#/

The "one of the 12 video lessons" is our 4 part SC video. It will give you some new strategies.

Hi gzimmer,

If you're consistently getting lots of SCs wrong when you take your CATs, then we need to define HOW you're working through SCs. Can you describe the 'steps' that you go through when working through a typical SC? How often do you end up 'narrowing the answers down to 2 choices' and then picking the answer that "sounds good" (or "sounds like how I would say it")?

Thanks everyone for your advice. I bought the enhanced score report and it turns out that my verbal strength (RC) ended up being my weakness. I improved quite a bit in SC, so I appreciate everyone's advice. Sadly, I had the flu when I took the exam, so I am giving it one more try on March 27 when I am all healthy. Thanks again!

Hi gzimmer,

First off, if the 700/Q47 that you've listed in your profile is an Official Score, then it's an outstanding result (it's right around the 90th percentile overall), so you should apply to any Business Schools that interest you. By extension, a retest is probably not necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:

If you'd like some additional analysis of your ESR, then you can feel free to PM it to me.

Thanks! It is an official score, but I was scoring 760 Q50 on my 2 GmatPrep practice exams before the real thing. I am only taking it once more because I put so much time into studying and I don't think I reached my potential on the real thing (due to nerves and the fact that I was sick when I took it). Thanks! I tried to upload ESR, but it said the file was too big..

I feel like it is really reachable by working as always really hard and being consistent. As someone says: 'Since you are already scoring V37, just fine tune your skills V40+ is not very far and very much achievable in 2 weeks.. ' maybe focus on manhatan prep but I know that doing cats helps a lot to write the correction down ect...
