GmatTutorKnight sure. I'll purchase the ESR. But I've a doubt. Would that really help? Because the last time I purchased, it didn't do much.

It probably won't do much.

There appears to be some overall issue with your prep.

One possibility is that you've somehow prepared for the official practice tests rather than for the actual GMAT. GMAT test-takers often experience this issue because so much of what's said about the GMAT, both in prep resources and informally, is based on what appears on the official practice tests.

For some other ideas regarding why your GMAT score was lower than your practice test scores, see this post.

Hi Veda,

I'm sorry to hear that your 2nd attempt did not turn out as well as hoped. This recent Score is remarkably similar to your prior attempt, so it's likely that you 'responded' to the GMAT in the same ways that you did before - and the issues that kept you from scoring higher on your 1st attempt are still impacting your performance over 6 months later. Before we discuss any of those potential issues in more detail though, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) What type of study routine have you been following over the last 6 months? How many hours did you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you been using since your 1st attempt? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

While we don't necessarily need the ESR for this attempt, that additional information could provide insights into some of the inefficiencies that are still happening on Test Day (and would provide a comparison with the data from your prior ESR).

It's still possible. People often experience that issue.

It's possible that any non-official materials you used gave you ideas that were based on official materials and thus made it seem that you were preparing effectively.

That said, it's also possible that something else occurrred.

Other than questions in OG 2022, how many practice questions do you think you did?

Hi Vveeeeee,

Is it possible that you were burned out by the time you took your GMAT? Or did you feel like nerves affected you during your exam?

Hi guys,

I just researched about gmat last week.
Gave a practice mock from official site mock 1.
Qa-49, va-26, ir-5 - 620

Please tell me how to go ahead?
I am planning to give gmat in aug mid/end.
Want to apply to MiM college in R1 itself.

Have suggested Manhattan-Prep's 6th Edition for SC and CR to students. Working with a study buddy who is strong on Verbal may be helpful as well. You could teach them Quant (Q49) in exchange.

This person retook a V31 to a V40 in about 30 days. They took some tutoring (6 hrs solving approach) but mentions some quick tips/resources you can check out.

Other than OG 22, I solved approximately 200-300 questions extra
