Hello to every one,
It is my first thread in the forum although I have been reading you for a long time. I am writing this to get "practical" and "objective" regarding the real difficulty in breaking into a Master's program in one of these universities (especially interested in the MM Analytics). - Ivey- Queen's- McMill
Background: Spanish nationality and 25 years old with a double bachelor in BA and LAW with a GPA of 3.0 in a non-target Spanish school. Did extracurricular activities one of which consisted of creating a Fintech Congress with 500 attendees in its first year, also won an investment competition. I have two recommendations: one of my nowadays boss and one of my university's rector.I did one internship in Private Banking and also worked in Commercial Banking. I joined an exchange with a Peruvian prestigious university and finished my studies there. Passed the CFA Level I before finishing my studies and I have already passed Level II. Since I finished my studies I have been working 18 months in a Transaction Services Department of a Big 4 in Peru. I took the GMAT and scored 670. I am fluent in Spanish and English and I have a B2 of French.
The reason why I only asked for Canadian universities is that personally I feel attracted by the Canadian culture and would like to break into its scene. I would also not mind if I had to be based in either Toronto or Montréal.
Goals:- Develop skills that can be applied in a more technical role. This one should involve more decision making and should not forget the financial side. I am not able to determine whether I could achieve this role in a promotion or another job (if another, I would appreciate insights!).- Complete a profile that I would like to eventually become one of management.
Thank you for your time, I would appreciate any kind of advice.
I think you should be good for it
You have a good background. I think Ivey looks for a variety but I would suggest gaining at least 3 years of experience prior to starting an MBA

Also if you wanna apply sooner, McMaster University has a co-op program. It is one of the top 10 Universities according to US news.
Mcmaster lets students with less than two years of work ex transition smoothly into a good role, also it is a school known for Finance and is close to toronto
