Hi all,
Took the gmat score -710(q 50 v 35)
I am an engineer specilalized in electrical and electronics. Have about 11 month work experience in a company(Robert Bosch).
I am confused about what to do. Three options in front of me
1) Retake GMAT
I was going through the forum. One pt mentioned was if u get 50 pts below your score in gmat prep, u should consider retaking. Also my verbal is very low.
my scores were
gmat prep1-760(q 50 v 46)
gmat prep2- 730(q50 v41)
My quant scores is as predicted. But verbal really went bad. Dont know what happened. So i was really disappointed. So should i retake??
2) more work experience
Reason i quit my past job was i was never interested in pursuing that field. I would like to take up finance. I was not gaining anything valuable from my job to help me in the future. So i felt it was better to leave since i learnt about the corporate life and the work culture. I was going to do the same job for the next three years from which i was never going to gain anything useful to help my future. Should i look around for new jobs closer to the field i want which would be tougher or go into an IT industry??
3)Apply with the present score
My gpa is 7.7/10. I dont know the exact value when reduced to scale 4. It belongs to the top class(all above 7.5 are considered top class). So i dont know if my grade is 4 or it is divided in the same ratio which would make it lower or it is compared to the highest in my branch which would make mine about 3.8.
My extra curricular achievements are good. I have won prizes both at national and district level
I was thinking about applying to university such as stern or mit this year. What are my chances??
