Hello,
I booked my first exam on October 1st but while booking I forget to mention my Surname, so on D-day they didn't allow me to write the exam. They took a scan copy of my passport and said the name will get updated.
I have called the customer service and asked for the update about my case. Now they said that they need a extra legal document as proof to add surname to my account, since the name is totally different in MBA account and passport.
(Details in passport: First Name- Mohamed Sathik Surname- Peer Mohamed and Details in MBA account First name: Mohamed Last name: Sathik).
Now the real problem is in all other legal document I don't have a surname only my passport has. So I can't provide any supporting document to add my surname, without that I cant book the exam. Also adding surname in legal documents will take much time.
bb Is it advisable to create a new MBA account with correct name and book the exam? ( P.S: I dint went through the fingerprint scanning process last time).
Will GMAT cancel my score? If I book exam through a new account.
I want to write the exam by December end. Please advise!!
Hello,
sathik63. I am not
bb, nor am I certain about GMAC™ canceling a score given under another name. However, if you want to take the exam within the next eleven days, there is just no way that is going to happen if, as you wrote yourself, you attempt to change all your legal documentation to match that of your passport. I would simply register a new account on mba.com to match the information on your passport and sort out the other details later. It is not as if you are defrauding anybody, given the manner in which you have attempted to iron out the issue up to this point. If you cannot book an exam before the end of December, and if it looks as though the amount of time that would pass if you had to wait for new legal documents to be prepared would be similar to the wait to take the exam, then you could go ahead and pursue that route instead.
Sorry to hear of your predicament. Apart from a military friend of mine who got a passport within 24 hours, I know of no one else who has been able to get anything regarding legal paperwork done in an expedited fashion.
Good luck.
