Agricultural expert: A new type of fertilizer, SynthaGro, promises to Post Posted: 08 Jun 2022, 00:30
Agricultural expert: A new type of fertilizer, SynthaGro, promises to increase yields for corn farmers. Because the long-term costs of using it are unknown, however, I do not recommend its use at this time. Corn Farmer: Your position is inconsistent with your usual course of action. You recommend many products that have substantial costs to farmers,so cost cannot be the real reason you do not recommend SynthaGro. The corn farmer's argument is flawed because it fails to consider that
A. the costs of SynthaGro might be different for corn farmers than for soybean farmers
B. it is possible that the expert does not believe that SynthaGro is as effective as the manufacturer claims
C. corn farming represents a substantial portion of the world economy
D. the costs of using a chemical could increase over time
E. known costs can be compared with known benefits, but unknown costs cannot
IMO E provides the best reasoning for a flaw in the farmers argument
