I️ have been studying the GMAT for a month now but it seems like I’m not really making that much progress. I️ am using MPREP and took one of the CAT exams on there but I️ am pretty embarrassed to mention my score. I️ just need a few pointers as to how to prepare effectively for the GMAT without wasting unnecessary time, especially if you are aiming for a really high score (around 750) but you are very far from that.

I would recommend you find a comprehensive self study guide. Some popular ones are mgmat books, e gmat, magoosh, etc. Do some research on the forum to decide what will work best for you. I would combine that with thursdays with ron videos, especially for verbal. Once you think you know all the fundamentals, then you should key in on your weaknesses.
