Alley requested that after her death, Tom be appointed the board of the directorship.

(A) be appointed
(B) be appointed to
(C) that is appointed to
(D) be appointed as
(E) get appointed as

" Request " Requires a subjunctive I agree.
But how can a person be appointed" as" the board of something?
Can a single person comprise a board ?

on the other hand I feel B uses the subjunctive correctly and makes the meaning clear.

subjunctive construction = bossy verb + that + subject + subjunctive

bossy verb + that + subject + subjunctive
(B) requested that Tom be ( appointed to the board of Directorship ).

Hence feels as though B should be OA.
Please enlighten ?

Could you kindly recheck that the OA is D and not B. Kindly share the source as well.

Hi All,

Look at the source of this question. This question is selfmade. "BEAWARE".

I donot prefer to solve questions that are self made or from poor sources.

This question is wrong.
