My answer is (C). It took me 31 seconds.

(A) "The baseball team" is singular. The use of "it still lost" further confirms it.
"Their" does not have an appropriate precedent.

(BDE) can be eliminated for the same reason.

Usually a GMAT question contains more than one decision point. Did I miss anything?
Spent an additional 10 seconds to feel confident to move on.

How come answer is C. Than follows parallelism there is no IN in earlier art of sentence then how come answer is C? I know they should not be there since baseball is team is singular but i believe that statements are wrong
Can someone please explain me this

Hello Tanvay,

We hope this finds you well.

To answer your query, Option C "that" parallels "in"; here, "that" serves as a preposition rather than a pronoun, so it can parallel the preposition "in".

We hope this helps.
All the best!
