option B seems like an incomplete statement to be the correct answer for Q.5.
The last paragraph specifically mentions that along with usual mining issues,
"Jamaica and Brazil have seen widespread protests recently against the major bauxite mining companies"
and because of the last lines of the passage, Option C looks like a better choice

Explanation

5. The author includes the discussion of protests primarily to show that

Explanation

The passage discusses the hazards associated with bauxite mining, particularly the issue of bauxite dust that can clog machinery and pose health risks to workers and local populations. The passage mentions that Jamaica and Brazil have seen widespread protests against major bauxite mining companies. These protests are indicative of workers and local communities taking action to address the dangers and negative impacts of bauxite mining, demonstrating their increasing concern about the hazards associated with the industry.

The other answer choices do not accurately reflect the information presented in the passage:

(A) The passage does not make a general statement about the geographic location of bauxite mining but focuses on specific countries where protests against mining have occurred.

(C) The passage does not explicitly state that mining companies have misled people for decades. It discusses the dangers associated with bauxite mining but does not make a claim about misinformation.

(D) The passage does not discuss the government of Brazil's involvement with mining companies; it primarily focuses on the hazards and protests related to bauxite mining.

(E) The passage does not mention a tradition of unionization among miners; it discusses protests as a response to the dangers of bauxite mining but does not specifically mention unions.

Still option B seems incomplete as it states workers are protesting against mining rather than bauxite mining
but Thank you for your response!
