First thing first :-
When you say : Am I hopeless, the world looks at you with the picture you show them.. When you doubt yourself, it becomes difficult for people reading your post not to doubt you..
Secondly.. YOUR NOT USELESS ... There are few members here who have a 3.8 GPA with a magna cum laude from a top 20 university... Dont doubt your mettle..
Thirdly... A GMAT and your undergrad academic scores are an indicator of your academic capaibility. The GMAT is something that you can surely improve, as you can take it upto 4 times. I understand you have taken it twice. So you have 2 more times to work and crack the exam.
Finally .. Did you study towards the exam, how did you prep for your GMAT . Did you use the right resources.
Youve given the exam twice..
Reflect on your practice prior to your earlier tests. A good GMAT score takes atleast 60-90 days of practice. there are a few of us who do spend more time on improving this one aspect. A good student like you may not have given enough time on the prep, and may not have used the right resources.
Buy the Manhattan guides, OG11 and the OG11 Verbal and Quant guides.
Start working with the Manhattan guides. Give 60 days to your prep. And prep for atleast 30 minutes to an hour daily. By solving 10 questions from the OG atleast. Slowly you will see your confidence building up. Also use GMAT Club and answer on the forum regularly. If you feel still feel underconfident , and you need a confidence booster. Take a Powerprep .. The questions in the powerprep are from the OG, so you will get a better score. Take a test date one month from when your done with this.
In the last month do the Manhattan tests (6), and the GMATPREP tests(2). Reflect on your
error log, and the mistakes made .
All these steps and a little bit of luck, and your on you way to a great score..
Start working today.. There are 3 months to go . By Oct you must be ready with your apps , if your looking at R1...
Best of luck
