Hello GMAT Guru,
Please help me to clear my confusion over the usage of "THEIR" in the below sentence.
Mexico crushed Portugal for their biggest World Cup win.
Meaning Wise and Context Wise, I know between the two team Mexico is winner and "Their" refers to "Mexico". However, since we have two noun and Portugal is closer to the "their", would the usage of "their" be considered ambiguous.

When Portugal has been crushed by Mexico, How can it logically be Portugal's biggest win? it is crystal clear. 'Their' refers to Mexico.
