He should not win the first prize but win the second prize = (27/30)*(3/29) = 27/290

Has only ONE winning ticket i.e. the second prize
Probability of winning the second prize in the first draw itself \(=\frac{1}{30} \)
Probability of loosing in the second draw \(= \frac{28}{29}\)
Probability of loosing in the third draw\(=\frac{27}{28}\)
Now it is not necessary that this will happen in this order, total ways this can happen is the number of ways W, L,L can be arranged where two are of the same kind \(= \frac{3!}{2}\)
\(\frac{1}{30}*\frac{28}{29}*\frac{27}{28}* \frac{3!}{2} = \frac{27}{290} \)
