So ABCD is a square of side a.
speed = 8 kmph
time =0.5hr to cover a distance of 2a (since it reaches position C which is diagonally opposite to A)
Therefore we know,
S= D / T
=> 8 = 2a / 0.5
=> a = 2
So, ar. sq. ABCD = 4 sq. km
