Audio visual department --> 30 percent sales - 70 percent profit
Home appliance division --> 70 percent sales - 30 percent profit

Clearly, the profit earned per dollar of sales is more for audio visual department than for home appliance division.

Answer: B

Can anyone please explain the solution

Assume the industry consists of 2 departments - Audio Visual and Home Appliance.
Let net sales = $200; Profit = 50$
Audio Visual Sales = 60$; Profit from Audio Visual sales = 35$
Home Appliance Sales = 140$; Profit from Home Appliance sales = 15$

What can be inferred here? Profit per dollar of sales for Audio Visual department > Profit per dollar of sales for Home Appliance department

Official Explanation

If the home appliance division accounted for 70 percent of sales but only 30 percent of profits, it is clearly generating less profit per dollar of sales than is the audiovisual division.

For this particular stem, my answer is also inclined towards B options. Still, one query has raised in mind that, what's wrong with option E?
