An ice cream parlour sold all its ice cream last week. 2/5th of the ice-creams sold last week were chocolate and 1/3rd of the remaining ice-creams sold were vanilla. If you just imagine there are 5 "ice creams", then 2 are chocolate. There are 3 left, and 1/3 of those, or 1 of them, is vanilla. That leaves 2 that are strawberry. So the ratio we need is 1 to 2 to 2 (though I wouldn't expect a real GMAT question to discuss chocolate first in the setup but then ask for vanilla first in the answer).

We can let the total number of ice creams = 60.
Thus:
2/5 x 60 = 24 are chocolate
There are 60 - 24 = 36 remaining ice creams.
1/3 x 36 = 12 are vanilla
Finally, 60 - 24 - 12 = 24 are strawberry.
So, V : C : S = 12 : 24 : 24 = 1 : 2 : 2
Answer: B
