Let the scores be 8x, 7x, 6x, 5x and let the maximum marks be M

then as per the question:

26x/4M=0.65
therefore, x/M= 1/10

Need to find 8x/M; 7x/M ; 6x/M and 5x/M
since x/m=1/10 then only 8x/M; 7x/M scores are 80% and 70% and so 2 people got at least 70%

Answer is option (C)

To qualify for a performance bonus, an analyst must score at least 70% of that maximum. After the evaluations, the four analysts have scores in the ratio 8 : 7 : 6 : 5, and their average score is 65% of the maximum. How many analysts qualify for a performance bonus?

We need to score at least 70% of Maximum marks = 70%* M to qualify for performance bonus.

After the evaluations, the four analysts have scores in the ratio 8 : 7 : 6 : 5, and their average score is 65% of the maximum.

Average score = sum of individual scores / Total scores.

= (8x+7x+6x+5x)/ 4M

= 26x/4M

(26x/4M) = (65/100)

(x/M) = (1/10)

Score at least 70%*(M) = 70%*(10) = 7

The four scores are : 8, 7, 6, 5.

Only 8 and 7 qualify to get the performance bonus.

So, option C.
