Anand,

In ur case A, LHS of

so PR/100( R/100 + 2 ) = 1.1 * PR/100

is incorrect.

It gives the interest for 2 years and not 2nd year.

If u subtract the interest for 1st year from this and then equate with RHS,

u will get R=10%.

ps: In compund interest the %age increase in interest over consecutive years gives the rate of interest.

So i think in option A above we don't even need the principle amount.

Please let me know if i am missing something.

Hi Virtual,

You are right. The intrest in the second year is
just PR/100 ( R/100 + 1 )

I get R = 10%

D should be the answer.

I think the answer is A

A is definitely enough,

B is not!
