Wouldn't be surprised - they have been trying hard to increase enrollment as of late

Yes. I just looked at the website and there is now an R4. I'm not sure this will bring out additional applicants or delay those that would have applied R3.

For me, an R3 applicant, it now means I am no longer a last-round applicant! I looked through some history and apparently USC MBA.PM added 2 additional rounds last year

Let me clarify.

As UCLA has been attempting to grow the class (with the addition of the 'online' section and all that), they want to keep the application period open as long as they possibly can so as to draw as many qualified applicants and eventual qualified matriculants as possible.

I agree though, another round will more likely delay an applicant than draw new applicants (most people who are gonna apply will likely plan ahead enough to hit the first three rounds)...

Haven't received anything yet. Sent a note to Jumaane in FEMBA Operations to see when the welcome packets would be sent out, but no response yet.

I went to the January 21st welcome event. They handed out the welcome packets then. The welcome packets contain financial aid info and general program info about what next steps to take. I'm not sure if they will send those out though...

I'm planning on applying for the R4 round...I know I'm late to the game, but just had to keep my motivation up to finally app this year.
Planning on taking GMAT by May 1st week and get all other docs together by then.

Is applying in the last round automatically make your app look bad?
Why d i get that feeling reading through this forum..

Your 2 cents appreciated...

I don't think applying in round 4 automatically makes your app look bad - if they would automatically disadvantage a round 4 candidate, why even bother having a 4th round? I would just approach applying in round 4 with an awareness that they've filled a majority of the spots through the earlier rounds, so they may be more selective in admissions as they're only going to accept enough candidates to get the # of students matriculating that they want (Historically, I think they've targeted around 280 matriculating students per year). You may face stiffer competition than in early rounds, but if you put your best app forward, I wouldn't be overly concerned.

HTH!

At the info session a couple weeks ago, they mentioned that they were currently "55% complete with admissions." I can only assume this means they have filled 55% of slots. This is probably the reason they added an R4 in the first place. They also mentioned they may admit more students than initially planned due to the flex program.

I also noticed the decision date is the same for R3 and R4
