I didn't understand how UCLA comes into Picture in terms of social impact as when I was applying that was one of the things I was looking into and I spoke to the school of Public policy and school of Environment to make that decision.

UCLA is one of my favourite schools, ask any moderator, they know how much I love LA! But given your goals and the factors you mentioned, I see Rice and UT Austin as better fit.

And congrats on 100% scholarship at Rice. But if you do an opportunity cost calculation, do try to make a tradeoff matrix as I suggest all my clients to do and add all the relevant non-quantifiable factors to the list.
I don't see you making a mistake with either UT Austin or Rice.

If you had Georgetown on that list- I would say that over these if social impact is indeed your actual career choice. Mostly because of location advantage as the Social ventures there have access to the resources and impact strategies at a national and international scale than a localised one.

Hi there! I would GREATLY appreciate any and all thoughts / perspectives as I navigate this decision.

Additional details on my offers:
- Forte foundation fellow and >50% tuition covered at Anderson and Foster
- 100% tuition covered at Rice
- No scholarship from UT Austin

Some circumstances, goals, and other factors I have in mind:
- I'm really interested in pursuing a career in sustainability and social impact. I'm currently in consulting and do see myself reentering consulting (in the short-term) following the MBA
- While all programs offer great opportunities, I do feel UT Austin or UCLA would be the best fit for me personally (a little torn between these two)
- I'm from Texas and do like the idea of being close to my family and could see myself living in Austin post-graduation.
- I also love the idea of moving to a city like LA for the next two years. I went to UC Berkeley for my undergrad and love the weather etc. in California

Money is an important factor as I'm funding myself but I also want to prioritize other factors that will shape my MBA experience. Please help me understand the other factors and facts about these schools I should keep top of mind, and share any experiences or insights you may have about any of these programs. This is a tough decision so I appreciate any helpful input you might have.

THANK YOU!

1) An aspiring MBA student with a goal that's not MBB or IB / PE / VC ... :) ... love it!

2) If you've not decided, the two links in my signature block below might help. If you have decided, we'd love to hear. :)

3) Given the info that's here, I voted for Anderson ... it's a better school for what you want than Foster (and it's higher-ranked, too) ... McCombs is a peer school and $0 is hard to swallow if money is a priority for you (and you say it is) ... IMO ... without getting more $$ from either Anderson, McCombs or Foster, the only school that should be in your comparison is the free ride from Rice (Jones).

4) If you follow the free-ride, but aren't as sure about your internship opportunities, start working on them NOW ... don't wait for on-campus stuff to start after you get there.

Good luck!
