(A) how to bake a cake for a health-conscious family --> Correct, rectifies diction error and conveys intended meaning

(B) having a health-conscious family for which to bake a cake --> wordy and awkward

(C) how can one bake a cake for a health-conscious family --> wordy and awkward

(D) how one could feed a health-conscious family a cake --> Distorts meaning

(E) having a health-conscious cake to bake for a family --> Distorts meaning

MANHATTAN REVIEW OFFICIAL EXPLANATION:



Choices B and E change the meaning. Choice C has a wrong order of words. It should read ‘how one can...’. Choice D implies that the problem lies in how to feed the cake to the family rather than in how to bake the cake. A is correct.
