Another set with solutions.
good luck to you all for the test.

Hi Marcab,
Very nice effort !
I have a little doubt regarding following SC...Hope you will throw some light on it. :)

For almost five thousand years after its beginning 2.5 million years ago, Homo habilis
roamed the earth, lived in semi-permanent camps, gathered food and shared their
economy.
A. For almost five thousand years after its beginning 2.5 million years ago,
B. Beginning 2.5 million years ago for a period of almost five thousand years,
C. Beginning a period of almost five thousand years 2.5 million years ago,
D. During five thousand years, a period beginning 2.5 million years ago,
E. Over a period of five thousand years beginning 2.5 million years ago,

For option D : Whether the intended meaning of the presented question is the only error with this option or am I missing something else here? Though "Verb+ing" modifier is the best describing the noun " a period "
For option E : "Verb+ing" modifier without comma must modify precedent noun, but here the present case is "Noun + prepositional phrase + Verb + ing "
Need your expert comment!
Nice question.
Since you specifically asked about D and E, so I assume that you are clear why A,B and C are incorrect.

In D, the modifier is "a period beginning bla bla" which is describing "five thousand years". Its like providing a general definition of "five thousand years". If someone asks you what is "five thousand years", then you'd say "a period beginning 2.5 million years ago". Absolutely absurd..isn't it?

In E, the choice seems fine as the entire modifier is correctly placed.
For the doubt you raise, try to refer SANAM pronouns mentioned in page number 45 in MGMAT SC guide. I shall recommend to try yourself initially, and if still you find any difficulty then you may ask again.

Hope that helps.
