In today's world, not only leaders but managers also need to possess leadership abilities to be able to motivate their direct reports. A recent report evaluating professional progress made by average students discovered that students who excelled in sports while in school display leadership abilities and hence are five times as likely to become managers, consequently earning higher salaries.
