Just want to add a new perspective regarding Big 4 accounting firms. Sure these firms are not doing strategy work as other firms like McK/BCG/Bain. They are more into Operations, Technology and Compliance work. After selling their respective consulting arms to IBM and Capgemini, they have been quiet on the consulting front. Infact this is due to the non compete agreement which was signed between IBM -PwC at the time of the acquisition. That non compete agreement got over last year. Since then , all the accounting firms are trying to re enter the consulting arena. For 5 years , PwC was offering consulting to SME category. As the non compete agreement is over , they are free to provide consulting to top tier companies.
