Hi all. It seems that almost every debrief I've read of people who massively improved their scores in CATs and real GMAT came from people who were already strong at math/quant, and only needed to work on their verbal.
Is there any debrief from people who managed to improve their quant scores dramatically?
I'm quite weak in Quant, I bought the OG 2016 and tried the diagnostic tests and I scored just about average. Then after practicing for around 3 weeks I tried the economist' CAT and scored a 660 (forgot the exact scores but it was around 65 percentile for quant), I have to say I was quite dissapointed. I have since bought the MGMAT math set but haven't had the time to read them.
Do you think it's possible for me to eventually reach 49~51, or is it just really hard to improve on quants?

Hi Bowo,
While many of the 'success stories' written in these Forums are from Test Takers who were already scoring at a high level in the Quant section, there are lots of Test Takers who are in the same position that you are in, so you're not alone. The GMAT is a predictable, consistent Exam though, so you CAN train to score at a higher level. From what you've described about your studies so far, you haven't put in the necessary time/effort or worked with the proper resources yet.
1) Have you taken any FULL-LENGTH CATs (with the Essay and IR sections)? If you have, then how did you score? If you have not, then you should take one soon (you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com).
2) What is your goal score?
3) When are you planning to take the GMAT?

There's one here. Don't worry about any patterns you might have noticed while going through the debriefs. The GMAT is a test of reasoning skills. Getting better at quant is possible, and (moreover) is not a rare thing.
