Hello all -
I've been taking the GMAT seriously these past few weeks, studying almost every day for 2-4 hours. I bought the Kaplan guide and saw the score rise from 500 to 530 to 570 (V27, Q41). While I can see some improvement, it is still not good enough. So, for the next few weeks, I am going to continue my studies with the OG Guides and
Manhattan Prep's All the GMAT set.
My main issue here is that I think I need a course to help me out these next few weeks/months. Based on the reviews, I was excited to see that eGMAT was very beneficial in boosting the Verbal score. It was an area I clearly needed assistance with. Unfortunately, I do not think it will work out for me. A little fact about me - I am Deaf and English is not my first language. I need subtitles and/or transcripts to comprehend what is being said in the videos (because I can't hear lol). I've consulted with the team at eGMAT and I see that they do mean well but...they do not have the resources nor are they willing to accommodate & support me which is a bit disappointing.
For anyone asking, I would like to hit the 700-score threshold but I will be very happy if I get at least 680. I am also hoping to take the online exam before UCLA's first-round admissions date (10/2) but realistically, I will likely put it off a little later because 1) I'm not sure if I have enough time and I need to feel completely secure before I do anything and 2) Retakes aren't an option as of yet. I'm afraid about the possibility of missing the 680-700 score, and not being able to take it again, and not be able to take it at a center either because they're closed until the end of December...
So now, my question is this - are there any good courses/plans out there other than eGMAT? If so, which of them are accessible? Or which ones do you think will be willing to accommodate and help me? If you've taken any course (including the eGMAT) and you think they will be accessible enough for me, please share away! If you're an instructor or a mentor, please share your input as well. I genuinely would love everybody's feedback on this so I can determine the next course of action.
I am fully committed and ready, I just need a little help. I look forward to hearing from y'all! Thank you!!
