I just had my first exam yesterday and got 710: Q50 and V35. My verbal score really surprised me because all my 4 practice exams were either 42 or 44. I was very confident to score at least 750 on the exam.
I think my pace was completely messed up during the verbal section. I did not understand two of the four reading passages - I don't think I was actively reading during the exam. I had imagined, if anything, I would probably got tripped over CR instead of RC. I rushed through the last two reading passages because 1: those two were business related and I'm much more comfortable with those concepts and didn't need to spend much efforts; 2: I was really running out of time. To make things worse, after selecting an answer for question 35, I just sat there for one entire minute, thinking that was the last one! I didn't realize it until there were 5 seconds left. I think I randomly clicked on an answer for #36, although I'm not entirely sure if it was selected at all - it was all a blur for me now! It's possible that I got penalized for not finishing the exam.
I'm strongly considering retaking so any advice is welcomed and really appreciated! My target school is Booth's weekend program and my undergrad GPA is 3.96. I'd think that my GPA would be able to compensate for a slightly lower GMAT score. GMATNinja, I've watched a lot of your videos on YouTube (they were super helpful) I'd love it if you can provide any insights.
Thank you all!!

Unfortunate stuff in regards to the last question. If you selected (as in clicked on one of the circles) chances are the computer will consider it "selected" if the time runs out.
Regardless, if it makes you feel better in an odd way (even though the OG does say there is a penalty for not finishing the exam), I don't think the penalty is so heavy that an otherwise V38 (for example) would turn into a V35.
