I applied on 1/14 and my application was finally marked as complete today...I didn't get an email notice or anything, so if you're still waiting, I'd recommend logging on and checking the status!

Got waitlisted last year and ultimately rejected. But I got in this year - High GMAT/Low Undergrad GPA combo. I think my interview last year wasn't as good, and I've had a whole year to refine my story. I would say that your story better make sense (why now, why McCombs, etc....). With McCombs, you never know - there are some folks with really high GMATs at McCombs, and from Ivy-level undergrad institutions. I'd wiat and reapply if you're really interested in going to McCombs, rather than going to a program that you really don't feel "100%" about, assuming you have the option of waiting it out another year.

What is the scope for applicants who don't wish to get in the Energy sector?

I wanted to check if the GMAT can be taken on the day of the deadline. Like R3 deadline is 1st April. Is it OK to take the GMAT on 1st April ? Some school allow you to take the GMAT by the deadline date to be considered in that round.

why would you do that? don't you want your score to count? it can take days or a week to have GMAC submit your scores to the school.

Retake at 720? You have already gone past the 80/80 split, what score are you aiming for?
As for your question--call up the admissions office and ask them--everyone else will be speculating.

Yea, for UT, I just don't see the point. The 720 will help pull up the median, the 49Q proves you can count and the 40V proves you can read. Plus,if you read some of the earlier posts, having a super high GMAT might actually be a detriment  In any event, I just don't having a score >720 would really make any noticeable difference in your candidacy.

The question was for a buddy at work, not me. I was suggesting to him that most schools require you to have taken the GMAT by the deadline. Wanted to verify if this was applicable to UT too.

I don't see why your friend couldn't take the GMAT on the deadline. He'd be able to submit that day with the score and send the score report to the school as an option following the test.

The official scores are reported 4-5 days after the test. He can self-report the scores on the application deadline, but those scores would be without the AWA.

The right answer is probably to call and ask. We're just blindfolded and throwing darts.

got waitlisted...sucks, but i guess there is still some hope!
was wondering if there were any other international waitlisted applicants...it is my assumption that as an international student, i have to find out along with all the other applicants in R2 because of the amount of time required to process I-20s...let me know if i am way off base..

well, the school can always make you wait...they wont think about international and all...but its better if you recieve an offer soon so that you can kickstart the process earlier..
