Hey everyone,I was admitted to the MBA 25J intake and was hoping to start at the Fontainebleau campus. However, due to some personal issues, I delayed submitting my deposit. Now that I've decided to go, I've been informed that the Fontainebleau campus is full and I can only start at the Singapore campus.
My goal is to work in Europe after graduation, so I really want to spend as much time as possible at the Fontainebleau campus. Does anyone know if there’s any way to switch campuses? Has anyone been through a similar situation?
Since I've been in Asia for a long time and don’t speak any European languages, I feel like I really need to build more connections in Europe, both with classmates and alumni. Starting in Singapore feels like it might not help with that goal. I've heard that the first couple of periods are the best times to bond with classmates because they’re core periods and everyone is together every day. If I join midway, it might be difficult to build strong connections and friendship with the European students I guess. So, I'm really desperate to see if there's any way to switch to the Fontainebleau campus.
INSEAD's staff mentioned that the seats at Fontainebleau are full, but I’m wondering if there’s any flexibility or if it's truly impossible to switch to FBL. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

first of all, congratulations on your INSEAD admission.
The start of the MBA'25J class is just around the corner, so if INSEAD just told you that there are no more seats in Fontainebleau, I guess there isn't much you can do.
But I wouldn't worry. The most important periods for recruiting are P4 and P5, so as long as you're in Fontainebleau during those periods, you should be fine. And you could also land a job in Europe even if you were at the Singapore campus. It's just that being closer to your target geography in P4 and P5 makes the recruiting logistics easier, but it's not an absolute must. I, for example, got an offer in Europe while I was in Singapore.
To your point about connections, keep in mind that, from P3 onwards, everyone will start moving around. So, many of your Singapore peers will move with you to Fontainebleau. And many of these, just like you, will want to stay in Europe after graduation. Likewise, if you started in Fontainebleau, many of your peers would move to Singapore from P3 onwards and you'd lose track of them.
So, again, I wouldn't worry.
