I'm addicted to "24". But I bet it'll end soon.

Other than that, I'm Ok.

I just finished watching Prison Break (both seasons) over two weekends and will move on to "24" next. I don't know what it is, but everybody I know is addicted to that series.

You're starting 24 from the 1st season? You better block out a good chunk of time over the next few weeks.

A coworker of mine claims he was "glued to the TV" and watched the first four seasons over one of his vacation weeks. My plan is to get through about a season a week if I don't get held up at the office.

24 Sucks.
Here's how 24 works:

"Jack!"
"What?"
"We found a fish in the dead mans body."
"Oh yea? What kind"
"We don't know"
"Let me see it"
(pops up instantly on a screen in rotating 3dimensions)
"Oh that! Its a rare African Loobo Fish, our fish and game division uses them to clean the waterways near the harbor. Don't ask how I know something so incredibly unlikely for me to know, I just know! How big is it?"
"Hold on"
(magical ruler appears and just knows aspect ratios and crap and somehow figures it out)
"Its only 4.25 inches! That means its no more than 4 weeks old! Tom, can you pull up the fish and game division and see when they dropped fish into each canal?"
"Sure jack!"
(Instantly the screen rotates into 3d mode and they punch in "When was the fish dropped in what canal" and it suddenly tells you exactly when and were that particular fish was dropped)
"Great Jack! We know where the body was dropped!"
"Not so fast tom! It rained on tuesday so that means the water rate would have increased by 1.2 ft/s, meaning we have to look at least .402 miles further upstream!"
"Jack you are so smart!"
"Thanks. Now where's the stupid looking blond who always looks mad?"
"She's over there."
"Thanks tom!"

Its so incredibly implausible and ridiculous - every darn turn is just completely unbelievable.

If you want to watch something like 24 that isn't total crap - watch Sleeper Cell instead.

who cares if it's implausible? if i want plausible I'll watch animal planet. It's pretty entertaining, even though i'm still watching season 2. i think this will be the last one, or maybe i'll watch the third too. Like most shows, I am assuming it's just going to get more over the top. I've about had my fill of torture, too.

Yeah, I was about to write that but I decided to have lunch instead. I don't watch the show because it is plausible. I like Star Wars, Spiderman, whatever, not because they conform to reality as we know it. Seriously, plausibility has little to do with most fictional TV. Even shows supposedly based on "real life" are rarely plausible.

To be honest, I watch very little network TV. I like food network, discovery and live sports. I guess those would all be plausible. But even reality shows are a bunch of BS based on contrived situations and fancy editing; I cannot stand watching them. I'd much prefer to just accept a fictional setting rather than some show based on some made up situation we're supposed to accept as reality.

Haven't gotten in anywhere yet...so just predicting here:

1) Fear of moving. I HATE HATE HATE moving. Packing, cleaning, shipping, finding a place to live, unpacking, settling in, ARGH. Have to buy new crap all over again, etc. What a big hassle.

2) IF i go somewhere east coast, which is very likely, WINTERS is gonna be a big fear. BRRRRRR. Can't imagining having to wake my ass up and drag my ass to class inthe middle of freezing winter.

3) The fear that someone the economy is going to **** right when I graduate, and that even if I got into a good school that I couln't get a good job and as a result will get ridiculed by everyone i know, can't pay off loans, wasted my time and $$ getting an MBA, etc.

Besides LOST, to which I am addicted to, I don't watch much TV either. Has anyone seen "Man vs. Wild" on Discovery? I randomly cought it one Sunday afternoon and watched a few episodes. That man (Bear Grylls) is insane!

I'm obsessed w/ Man Vs. Wild. Bear is my hero. I love when he eats animals that are still alive, like when he bit the head off the snake and ate the body while it was still squirming.

It's amazing that someone w/ such a priveleged upbringing (went to Eton school, father was some big shot politician I believe) can be such a bad ass, eating meat off the bones of a rotting zebra.

I'm a big fan of this show, as well. It's only a matter of time until they run out of places to take him and they end up dropping him in Iraq...or maybe Darfur.

Yes and No. You may be surprised how many of the upper classes, expensively educated, feed into the armed services in the UK.

WOW totally off topic. I like Man vs Wild but I think Survivorman is a much more interesting show since he does everything without a camera crew along. He carries all 50 lbs of equipment himself and is always setting it up and moving it. Bear has the benefit of a bunch of guys right next to him if something goes really wrong...plus a few of the things just seem outlandish. Like finding a "wild" horse in a field and walking right up to it.

Though I saw Bear on Oprah (my wife Tivos it daily) and his story of breaking his back when his parachute tore at something like 15K feet and fell to earth at more than twice the normal rate is a crazy and amazingly he still jumps...I dont think I would do that if I fell out of the sky once already.
