Anybody here ever dealt with GMAT customer service

Question

I'm having an issue with updating my name (there's a difference in spelling between my local ID and my passport), and I've been emailing GMAT customer service for a few days now with no response. My test is coming up in just a few days, and I'm really frustrated. I've already sent all the required documentation and proof to update my profile name, but still haven't heard back.

Hi. There are quite a few topics and discussions about it, the average time it takes for them to update the name is about a week.... Today is Sunday night so if you’ve contacted them on Friday, they wouldn’t get back to your request until tomorrow Monday.

bb  thank you for the information, i'm in a bit of pickle, so my name in the gmat profile match my local id(wrong name, misspelled by 1 letter), but didn't match my passport(right name), is the process usually take that long?, i'm very anxious because my deadline in January, i've emailed them since thursday but haven't got a reply, or course of action yet

Hi. I completely understand you and I’m hoping that the process may go faster. Try calling whatever support number you can find. I do not have one handy unfortunately. See if you can get it resolved on the phone.

In the worst case scenario, you can reschedule your date for next week sometime unless you are taking it at the test center and there are no spots. However, changing your appointment at this point in time is going to be expensive.

PS. You can take the test all the way until the day of your submission and as long as you have the score that you can put into your application, it works. So you could take the test the day before the deadline though I do not recommend that 😇

bb  i just hope i can get the name change before the admission deadline, i've been studying for months, and it's been pretty solid, but it would be a huge shame if i didn't even get the chance to take the test, anyhow, thanks a lot man, cheers.

You will be able to take the test, it’ll just be some headache unfortunately 😢

You don’t have to wait 14 days between the appointments if you have to reschedule. So you will be able to take the test... may just have to be on a different day if they don’t hurry up.

However, it’s an important event so spelling your name correctly is an important part of the exam examination.

Hi rex121,

Their email replies are often late. Can you  call them up  today (Monday)? The call centre people are a lot faster, and will most likely resolve your ID issue in a few days.

I see. Normally that doesn't happen for calls during the times mentioned on mba.com. Try again if you haven't been able to get through, or try calling the number for a different region if possible.
