Hi Guys,
I'm wondering if anyone else in this forum is interested in the topic of Venture Philanthropy, Social Ventures, Corporate Social Responsibility, Microfinance...etc.
The main reason for me wanting to get an MBA is to be a 'social entrepreneur'. I know that may be against the radical norm since MBA is more synonymous with making lots of $$!! Well, I want to make money as well but more importantly to use my abilities towards helping corporations and philanthropists to develop sustainable communities as well as successfully contribute to their bottom line.
I’m especially intrigued by what Google has done recently with the launch of Google.org. It has a pretty neat vision… that one day, this philanthropic venture will surpass Google itself in terms of the global impact it makes.
Anyways, if anyone else shares similar interests, I’d love to hear from you, which school/programs you are applying to, career goals post-MBA…etc. I haven’t read any posts in this area so I’m not sure what kind of response it’ll get but oh well… here goes…
Cheers,
