Just got an offer to interview! Anyone have impressions/advice for the interview?
The director didn't give me any difficult question, but you should be prepared for typical interview questions since you might get nervous. I did it over Skype and got extremely nervous when she asked me questions that I didn't prepare so well. I would search for 'grad school interview questions' on Google and practice answering them. I don't think my interview went great at all, but I got the offer... I am pretty sure you will too. Your GPA and GRE scores look good enough... Be sure to dress up according to the interview guideline on their website. Also, please let me know what your impressions are of the program and the school if you are visiting there. I've never been there yet...
Thanks for the tips. I go up there tomorrow to interview, tour, and sit in on a class. I'll be sure give my impressions of the program/campus. I can already speak to a degree of the campus, as my cousin attended and i spent time in Chapel Hill interning: It's a great town, very much a college town, and the campus is gorgeous. It's a classy-Southern, small-town vibe with a hippie contingent (immediately-neighboring Carrboro). Being a native of NC, it's my favorite place apart from the mountains. How soon were you notified of admission after interviewing? Also, to you and anyone else that has been accepted, any funding details (feel free to PM me)? Even in-state, with cost of living factored, it approaches $50k! Obviously, i'd welcome a generous fellowship, and i've been unable to determine to what extent students are financed - at any program for that matter. Thanks, again, and good luck to everyone applying to UNC-MAC!
