I took the gmat online a little less than a week ago and was happy with my unofficial score, but my test got flagged. No problem I thought at the time, I took the test legitimately and heard that the security team makes decisions in good faith. I got an email today saying that my test is being cancelled because they detected a VPN during my exam, even though I did not use one. I have the Cisco VPN app and a vpn browser extension, but neither of them were active at the time of me taking the test.
So anyways, what is the best way to appeal their decision? Is it best to email them or is there a number that I can call? I would prefer to talk to a person who could explain this to me because this does not make sense to me.

Hello, BlueCrew. Sorry to hear that the aftermath of taking the test did not go well. You will want to get in touch with GMAC™ as soon as possible. (Examity does not have the final say in whether an exam gets approved or becomes a violation.) Check the Contact Us page for the phone number to your regional branch. Be persistent, and wait to speak to someone if you can. You can also try sending an e-mail, but a phone call is likely to get things in motion a bit faster.
Good luck. Please let us know how everything turns out. (I have seen appeals go both ways recently, but the only certainty is that you are stuck with a violation unless you appeal the decision.)

Unfortunate situation. If you end up taking the test again and get a similar score, it may mitigate the issues on this attempt. Consider also mentioning in your apps your POV about the "Violation".
