This application is extra stressful being that my SO is already there, I'd love to join him, but the chances are slim.

im surprised to not see tuck or mit on your list! both are excellent schools in the vicinity.

One more school for R2 here. the process drags on.
There is no way I'd be happy in Hanover and I don't feel like MIT is a fit for me (although they do have a great real estate program). Although I'd like to be near him, this is a long term investment for myself and I have to consider what I want out of a program and which would be best for me.

Good luck to all round 2 applicants. I guess 3-4 more months isn't so much in the grand scheme of things (I've been thinking about b-school since 2007)

I was actually going to say the same thing-- the Boston --> Tuck commute really isn't bad at all--I know a lot of people who've done it rather successfully. But as you said, you have to be happy in rural New Hampshire and it isn't for everyone.

For me--I'm still working on Wharton & Columbia, and haven't even started writing the essays for HBS, which is making me nervous. But at least HBS isn't my #1 choice (not that I wouldn't be thrilled to be accepted)

3-4 months is nothing--I agree. But I'm still all jumpy and excited. Hahaha.

my app for Yale SOM (via the Consortium) has been in for about a month. from yale's website, they will start reviewing all R1 and R2 apps together. i've completed my consortium interview already, and a second interview may or may not be necessary (not exactly clear on this). at any rate, i should know by the end of feb if i'm in.

i'm starting on my columbia RD app. i'd like to get it in before the jan date. of the 3 essays required for the app, i only really need to work on one of them, as the other 2 i can use a variation of an existing essay. ive already contacted my recommenders and they were kind enough to agree to submit by jan 5th.

Cranking through my Booth and LBS applications that I plan on completing by Jan 1.

Will have to decide between Oxford Said and Sloan for mid-Jan submissions. I think, I'll choose Oxford because its a non-Top 10 school. I don't believe lower rankings makes Said a backup but its still easier to get in than Sloan.

Will start INSEAD app for Feb deadline.

I'm currently trying not to freak out. Last night (post HBS R1 decisions) I was like: "What if I too don't %$#@#$%". Essays are almost done, but still adding/deleting a word here and there. And have begun to think of life without an MBA. Scary! Very Scary! No Learjets for me then. :(

Another main R2:er here, too. Had to finish another exam before TOEFL and GMATs and so I only applied to one school in R1 because I could submit GMAT results later. Now I'm in for three schools in R2 and I have the Oxford application left to submit - deadline in January. The dreary wait has only began for me.

Plus I need to begin to apply for independent, domestic funding. Lots of deadlines coming up in Jan-Feb.

I'm only applying R2, Well R3 for Haas.

I originally was planning to do all the schools R1.
Then I was planning only doing Kellogg R1, missed the deadline (didn't get too far)
Then it was INSEAD (R2, missed that deadline - pushed it to R1 for January Intake)
Then it was Haas R2 (Missed that deadline, cuz I didn't start looking at the app until I had given up on INSEAD)

Now I'm thinking Ross R2, Chicago R2, Kellogg R2... and Maybe UCLA R2 (Jan) vs UCLA PT (March). Haas R3 (FEB), INSEAD Jan R1 (March)

So no news for me until mid feb if I get an interveiw from chicago or ross..

As for Status..
Chicago (Essay 2 rough draft done, starting essay 1)
Ross (Started coverletter)
Kellogg (not started)
Haas (completed 4 of 6 essays, 1000 word goals essay is terrible)
INSEAD (Completed rough draft of all essays.

I can't decide if having to go home for the holidays in the midst of all the final deadlines is a blessing or a curse--in one way it might make me more efficient because i have more to do in terms of family commitments & travel, so I have less time to work with, but I am worried about being distracted.

Ah well, will just have to power through it. 19 days and I will be done with 2 more apps with only 1 left to go from there!

Holy %$#* that is not that much time.

January deadlines getting closer and closer....

It's crunch time for me this week!!! I am surprised by my feeling that the holidays were a welcome respite that will help me focus this week....Goal is to submit Columbia RD this week and obviously, Wharton before the R2 deadline on 1/5.

How are you guys feeling?

2 deadlines for me next week, essays are getting the final read through.

Kellogg is off to be reviewed by friends

Starting on HBS, hope to have it done by the top of next week.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of anxiety pressing submit this weekend, I've been reading my datd forms over and over. I hope 2010 brings good news.

Stressed out like crazy...

finished haas
sending ross off for review
outlined kellogg, starting tomorrow
cornell outlined, good adaptable essays.

i echo 2012dreams sentiments about wanting march to arrive...

is it sad that the mba process has been one of the most stressful / trying times in my life? meanwhile people are dying elsewhere in the world and i'm worried about getting into bschool.

Hi all, i'm new to this forum.

Am applying in R2 to Stanford, Wharton and Darden. Have submitted my application, but still pending one recommendation letter to be submitted. Can only keep my fingers crossed and control the urge to check my status every other hr

Good luck to all!
