I am coming from a very small country in the pacific and there isn't much MBA awareness here.
Can someone please guide me through the timings of applications and deadlines.
I want to start my program in 2019. Where do I check what the deadlines are for various schools?
How long shall I allow for each application?

At the moment I am preparing for my GMAT and aim to sit the exam in early April.
I have 2 recommendations sorted.

What other things shall I work on whilst preparing other than:
- volunteering work
- promotion at work
- I am aiming to apply for scholarships as well
- resume
- essay (why i want to do an MBA to begin with)... are there any Engineers who have done MBA on the GMAT club?

Thanks

Thanks for your response Narenn

I am aiming to apply for couple of the top B-schools (Harvard, Wharton) as well.
Upon visiting the Harvard website, they mention that application deadlines for "Class of 2019" was in Sept 2016 (R1) and Jan 2017 (R2), and April is (2+2 - what is that?) respectively. Does this mean i had to apply in Sept or Jan to be in the Class of 2019 (starting in Sept 2019) ie am I too late?

This has lead to my confusion as the top schools are saying class of 2019 already. What am I missing here?

"Class of 2019" means the batch that will graduate in 2019. These students will start in 2017. If you want to start in 2019 then you will be in class of 2021 and the application process for 2019 intake will start in July/August of 2018. Hope that helps!

Hi there,
Please visit this page for a recommended timeline for MBA applications:
https://aringo.com/ideal-timeline-for-mba-application/
This is for September 2018, so if you are targeting 2019 just add one year to each step. Good luck!
